Mumbai, 16th July 2011: Wadhawan Lifestyle I AM She 2011 presented the Grand Finale of the prestigious and much coveted beauty pageant in India today. The announcement of the winners came amidst a glittering star studded ceremony with excitement levels sky rocketing, guests impatiently waited to watch the triumphant ones walk away with the crowning glory.
Ready to take the international platforms by storm, the gorgeous winners I AM She Miss Universe India 2011 – Vasuki Sunkavalli, from Hyderabad; I AM She Miss Globe International India 2011 - Parul Duggal, from Bhopal; and I AM She Miss Asia Pacific World India 2011 - Tanvi Singla, from Mysore made their first ever public appearance together at a special press conference at the Trident Bandra Kurla today. Their excitement and joy at representing India at the three of the most prestigious international beauty pageants was palpable. The title winner and 1st runner up were also awarded the New York Film Academy and Instituto Marangoni, Milan scholarships, respectively.
Particularly endearing were their social service commitments towards the I AM Foundation to which they are contractually bound. Bal Asha, the Jai Vakeel School Research Society of India and the Sandipanimuni School in Vrindavan have been associated with the I AM Foundation.
Speaking at the press conference, Sushmita Sen sated, “It gives me great pleasure to announce the I AM She, an endeavor close to my heart, is now three times larger. We have added two new franchisees, the Miss Globe International and Miss Asia Pacific World, and are growing as a property from strength to strength. This year, the Wadhawan Lifestyle I AM She 2011 was a stupendous success. I had the privilege of mentoring 20 of India’s finest young women. Intelligent, committed, focused and beautiful, they displayed spirit and enthusiasm that was contagious. As I present the three winners that will represent the country very shortly, I feel immensely proud to say the international crowns coming back to India are closer than we think.”
The Grand Finale was one glitzy affair which commenced with the hosts of the evening, Gaurav Kapoor, Archana Vijaya and Vivan Bhatena introducing the beautiful contestants on stage. The contestants showcased their beauty and talent on the stage at four rounds comprising of swimsuit, cocktail, evening wear and Q&A, captivating the audience’s undivided attention.
It was ever stylish mentor, Sushmita Sen who enthusiastically cheered the finalists throughout the show as they sashayed down the ramp with confidence and elegance, vying for victory in the most coveted pageant of the country. The top five selected finalists were put in a sound proof box while the judges asked each of them a common question to ensure the most deserving finalist wore the crown.
The Finale also witnessed some foot tapping entertainment by Shaan and Isha Sharwani who won the hearts of the audience with their scintillating performances.
The prolific panel of judges comprising of Zayed Khan, Esha Deol, Dia Mirza, Parvez Damania, Sujata Assumol Sippy, Gaurav Modwel and Malgorzata Langer had to face the impossible task to choose the final winners amongst the lovely 20 finalists. The beautifully created crowns reflected the poise and confidence of the winners.
The programme will be telecast live on Star World on August 26, 2011. The event was managed by 70mm and the show was scripted and directed by Tantra Entertainment.
